Context: MHD unveils his video "Faut les wet."

At just 22 years old, the artist MHD already has several successes to his name. With over 580 million views on YouTube, his hits make heads nod around the world.

At the origin of the musical trend called Afro Trap, based on African and electronic sounds, MHD has collected hits such as "La Puissance," "Maman j’ai mal," and "Champions League."

Just 2 months after his last video "Bravo," "Afro trap part.9 : Faut les wet" makes its debut. A fan of Snapchat, MHD wanted to surprise his fans by using a filter on himself throughout the entire video. Accompanied by two young dancers, "the prince of Afro trap" delivers another performance that he is known for.

Presentation: Supervision of the filming and production of the special effects for the video clip

To ensure the quality of the special effects in the video, the team traveled to Paris to supervise the production on all 4 filming locations.

In post-production, we performed rotoscoping on each shot to outline the faces and all elements passing in front of them (such as rear-view mirrors, hands, forearms...).

Using a 3D reproduction of MHD's face, we were able to apply an effect similar to the Snapchat filter in a more controlled manner. For narrative reasons, the same effect was applied to the two young dancers during the final chorus.

This result was achieved using a 3D projection mapping technique, which allowed us to maintain the volumes and proportions of the faces during movements.

But our service doesn't stop there. The can held by one of the dancers in the introductory scene was replaced in 3D for the sake of the scenario. Later on, you see MHD sporting shark teeth to accompany his line "moi-même j’suis un requin" ("I myself am a shark"). Finally, the price on the gas pump was modified to display €750.19. This price holds significance as it represents the 75 (Paris) and the 19th arrondissement. It's also an opportunity for the rapper to respond to his detractors in the video for "La Puissance." These critics mocked MHD for performing on a visibly broken-down BMW being pushed by four people.

To meet the deadline for the clip's release, all post-production was completed within 10 days.
