Context: François Descraques at the helm of his short film "Le Roi des Cons"
After giving carte blanche to several directors for a new short film project, Studio Bagel ultimately chose the screenplay written by Baptiste Lorber, Victor Rodenbach, Hugo Benamozig, and François Descraques, titled "Le Roi des Cons".
Entouré d’une équipe avec laquelle il a déjà pu collaborer sur de nombreux projets, François s’est naturellement tourné vers notre studio pour la réalisation des effets spéciaux, nécessaires à la mise en œuvre de ce projet.
Un court-métrage sur le ton de l’humour, soutenu par le thème musical de Jimmy Tillier et un clin d’œil à la chanson de Georges Brassens intitulé « Le Roi ».

Pour la bonne mise en œuvre de ce projet, nous avons été en charge de l’intégralité des effets spéciaux.
Lors du tournage, nous avons assuré la supervision VFX des plans concernés, afin de garantir une qualité optimale à l’intégration des effets spéciaux.
We also supervised the green screen filming of the actress suspended from the helicopter, which was then integrated in post-production.
Pour appuyer la folie de l’univers de l’histoire nous avons également imaginé et designé en 3D, un feu de circulation multicolore pour ensuite l’intégrer de manière la plus réaliste dans son environnement.
We also handled various other effects:
- Crowd duplication after shooting on green screen.
- Modifying the castle environment (closing curtains, placing flags and a clock, removing trees, integrating the castle into a cityscape)
- Modeling, texturing, animation, and integration of the helicopter
- Integration of videos/images into televisions and computer screens.
- Day and night sky replacement.
- Creating the "peephole" effect on the door.
- Enhancing lightning effects in the final scene.
