PRIX : BEST VFX - BUDAPEST MOVIE AWARD 2024 

Context: the new short film by Anaïs Vachez

Following the success of her short film Le Petit Monstre, Anaïs Vachez once again called on our VFX department for ADA. This poetic short film features Ada, a little girl who, night after night, watches her parents argue, until one night their argument takes a monstrously surprising turn.
Broadcast on OSC, it was also screened out of competition at the Paris International Fantastic Film Festival(PIFFF).

Performance: the ADA monsters

We created all 43 shots for the short film, with a focus on ferocious beasts. After several artistic proposals, we validated the final design and modeled the monsters before shooting, saving time in post-production.

The monsters' heads were 3D printed to facilitate the actors' work. During the shoot, we supervised the motion capture and took references, particularly for the lighting.

After capture, we animated the monsters and created the special effects, with one major challenge: the grooming of the hairs, treated independently for each part according to length and thickness.
